The firm consists of five attorneys, including shareholders: John M. Laney, Jr.; Roger C. Foster; John C. DeShazo; Clark E. Bowers, and one associate: David Terry. Our attorneys hold membership in many professional associations including the Birmingham and American Bar Associations, Alabama Bar Association, Florida Bar Association, Alabama Defense Lawyer Association, Defense Research Institute, Florida Defense Lawyer Association, International Association of Defense Counsel, and Forum on the Construction Industry. Most have served on Professional Liability Committees, Architects and Engineers Liability Committees and Construction Law Committees.

Laney & Foster’s attorneys are devoted to not only defending lawsuits in litigation, but also in all other means of dispute resolution, such as arbitration and mediation. Mr. Laney has served as an arbitrator before the American Arbitration Association, and Mr. DeShazo is a registered mediator in Alabama. The firm has attorneys licensed in Alabama and Florida to better serve our clients. Through the years, we have handled cases throughout the Southeastern United States.
The Firm’s lawyers routinely perform contract reviews for clients and advise them regarding contract language. Additionally, our lawyers often attend contract negotiation meetings with our clients. Our attorneys routinely speak to lawyers as well as architects, engineers, contractors and developers at seminars focusing on construction defects and legal issues affecting the construction industry.
